The Festival otherwise known as the Festival of Sacrifice is to commemorate the readiness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael according to his promise to Allah.
His effort was replaced with a ram by the Almighty Allah hence the observance of this act by the religious faithfuls every year.
